Grills / Barbecue area
The barbecue area is available to all guests of the skater village.
The following applies to all grills, including those on the terraces of the log cabins:
We provide the grills free of charge, but ask that you handle them carefully and clean them thoroughly after use.
Please use charcoal to operate the barbecues if possible. If you want to use a grill with wood, please only use it for barbecuing – don´t use the grill as a „fire bowl“!
After use, let the grill cool down, then dispose of the ashes in the green garbage can and clean the grill.
Important:
Please do not use the barbecue area after 10 p.m.!
If you would like to sit together outside after 10 p.m., please feel free to use the fire pit area.
Jüterbog
Jüterbog is already over 1000 years old. The historic old town with its walls, towers and city gates, the huge St. Nicholas Church and the Monks‘ Monastery (a 500-year-old Franciscan monastery) is particularly worth seeing. There are still houses in need of renovation, but year after year more old houses are being restored to their former glory and Jüterbog has developed into a town worth seeing.
The town information office is located in the Monks‘ Monastery. Here you can borrow an audio guide for an individual tour of the town.
A climb up the double tower of St. Nicholas Church is highly recommended – the wonderful view makes up for the strenuous climb up the spiral staircase.
Children
We have set up a small play area for your children. Use is at your own risk – please keep an eye on your children! There is a larger playground in the center of Neuheim.
In the small wooden house behind log cabin no. 3 there are many games for all ages. They can be borrowed free of charge. Please make sure that the games are returned complete and undamaged.
If you need a high chair or a cot, please speak to us.
Dear parents, please keep an eye on your small children and do not let them near the pond and also not near the street!
Waste disposal
For a clean environment, waste separation is very important to us and we ask for your support.
There are separate trash cans or buckets with separate containers in the houses so that you can collect residual waste and packaging separately.
Parking
There is one parking space available for each log cabin. If you have arrived with more than one car, there may still be enough space. If you drive as far forward as possible in the parking lot, there may be room for a second car behind it. However, it is also possible and permitted to park on the street as long as you do not obstruct traffic or the property entrances.
There are bike racks for your bikes at each house.
Restaurants
Guests often ask us about restaurants that we can recommend. That’s a bit difficult because everyone’s tastes are different.
That’s why we ask you, our guests, for your help: if you have had good experiences with a restaurant / café / snack bar, let us know so that we can continue to add to the following list.
Day trips
Of course, Berlin with its countless sights and Potsdam with Sanssouci Palace are particularly suitable for a day trip. But a visit to Lutherstadt Wittenberg is also worthwhile.
We highly recommend a visit to the treetop path „Tree and Time“ in Beelitz-Heilstätten.
Other excursion destinations are the Johannismühle wildlife park and the Glashütte museum village (both near Baruth), the „Spreewald“ and the adventure farm in Klaistow (for the whole family!) with Climb UP! climbing park.
Nature lovers should not miss the Nuthe-Nieplitz nature park. It begins here in Neuheim, a stone’s throw from the skater village, and extends to Saarmund near Potsdam. If the weather is right, you will find plenty of mushrooms in our forests from June onwards.
Accidents
Things that nobody wants can happen, especially when you’re out skating. If you have minor injuries, we may be able to help you out with bandages, if you don’t have any with you.
The nearest hospital is in Luckenwalde, Saarstrasse 1
In an emergency, please call either the on-call doctor (116 117) or the emergency number 112.
WiFi
We provide you with our WiFi network free of charge for the duration of your stay. By logging on for the first time, you agree to the terms of use, which you can read here .
About us
We, Renate and Ralf Winter, got to know FlämingSkate ourselves as skaters. At that time we lived around 80 km away from here and fell in love with the landscape and the skater’s paradise on our trips. And since we had long dreamed of having our own little guesthouse, we started looking for the perfect property and our serch ended here in Neuheim in 2006.
The large building, a former jewelry production hall, had been empty for several years and the property was very overgrown. With a lot of effort and joy we made the property and house habitable. In 2007 we started building the first 3 log cabins and could welcome the first guests in April 2008. The log cabins No. 4 and 5 were built later: by the first skaters moved in here in March 2013.
In the years that the skater village has existed, a lot of people have come and gone here. And we always find that skaters are particularly nice people 🙂
They come to us from a wide variety of countries: most guests come from Germany, of course, but many skaters also come to us from the beautiful Czech Republic, Poland, the Netherlands, France and even Ireland.
We hope that you enjoy it here too and we would be delighted if we could welcome you back next year.
Your Winter family
